| The highlight of the day was the continued presence of the Cretzschmar's Bunting
on Bardsey Island, Gwynedd. Elsewhere, lingering rarities included the Hudsonian Whimbrel
still in West Sussex, Greater Yellowlegs in Hampshire, territorial
Little Bittern in Suffolk, White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk, King Eider in Aberdeenshire and
White-billed Diver on the Shetland Isles. Briefly seen rarities today comprised a reported Eleonora's Falcon on St Mary's, Isles Scilly, Red-rumped Swallow in Norfolk, Black Kite in Kent, with Bee-eaters in Devon (2), County Durham, Norfolk (2), Northumberland (3), Isles of Scilly (3) and the Western Isles. Scarcities included the territorial Melodious Warbler (West Midlands), Purple Heron (Isles of Scilly), Ring-necked Duck (East Yorkshire), Ring-billed Gull (Cornwall) and two Marsh Warblers (County Durham and Norfolk). |

| The excellent spring run of Nearctic passerine records continued - a
Swainson's Thrush was discovered on Fetlar (Shetland) this morning.
A Gull-billed Tern was at Old Moor RSPB (South Yorkshire) and a Red-footed Falcon paused at Landguard NR (Suffolk), whilst lingering rarities included the Cretzschmar's Bunting (Gwynedd), Hudsonian Whimbrel (West Sussex), Greater Yellowlegs (Hampshire) and White-rumped Sandpiper (Norfolk). Twenty six Bee-eaters were reported, including flocks of eleven in East Yorkshire and ten in Lincolnshire. The best of the rest included Melodious Warbler (West Midlands), Spotted Crake (Gloucestershire), Ring-necked Duck (East Yorkshire), Marsh Warbler (Norfolk), Red-backed Shrike (Orkney), Purple Heron (Isles of Scilly), Hoopoe (Cornwall), Woodchat Shrike (Cornwall), Rose-coloured Starling (Aberdeenshire) and two each of Night Herons, American Wigeons, Temminck's Stints and Red-necked Phalaropes. |

| Lingering mega-rarities comprised Cretzschmar's Bunting on Bardsey
Island (Gwynedd), Hudsonian Whimbrel at Church Norton (West Sussex) and
Greater Yellowlegs at Titchfield Haven NNR (Hampshire). Elsewhere rarities
included King Eider (Aberdeenshire), Greenish Warbler (East
Yorkshire), White-billed Diver (Shetland) and ten Bee-eaters.
The best of the rest included Melodious Warbler (West Midlands), White-winged Black Tern (Staffordshire), Purple Heron (Isles of Scilly), Common Rosefinch (Co Durham), two Golden Orioles, two Icterine Warblers, two Hoopoes, at least two Marsh Warblers, two American Wigeons, three Red-backed Shrikes and three Red-necked Phalaropes. |

| Highlight of the day was the rediscovery of the Cretzschmar's Bunting
on Bardsey Island (Gwynedd), following its no-show yesterday. Elsewhere new rarities
comprised Laughing Gull and Bee-eater in Norfolk and Long-billed Dowitcher in Co Wexford.
Lingering rarities included Hudsonian Whimbrel (West Sussex), Great Reed Warbler (Shetland), Greater Yellowlegs (Hampshire), Paddyfield Warbler, Blyth's Reed Warbler and White-rumped Sandpiper (Norfolk), King Eider (Shetland) and Laughing Gull (East Yorkshire), whilst the best of the rest included Melodious Warbler (West Midlands), Purple Heron (Isles of Scilly), Serin (Kent), Green-winged Teal (Derbyshire), Hoopoe (Cornwall), two Red-necked Phalaropes, two Red-backed Shrikes, three Icterine Warblers, three Marsh Warblers, three American Wigeons, three Golden Orioles and four Common Rosefinches. |

| The highlight of the day was a male Eastern Black-eared Wheatear in Hampshire, in the New Forest at Acres Down. Elsewhere, a
Blyth's Reed Warbler joined the lingering Paddyfield Warbler on Blakeney Point, Norfolk, a Franklin's Gull was in County Galway at Rusheen Bay, a
Laughing Gull made a brief visit to Kilnsea, East Yorkshire, as did a Whiskered Tern
in North Yorkshre at Wheldrake, and a Bee-eater in Essex. Other lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Hudsonian Whimbrel in West Sussex, Greater Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Great Reed Warbler on the Shetland Isles, White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk, and King Eider in Aberdeenshire , but the Cretzschmar's Bunting could not be found on Bardsey, Gwynedd. Scarcities included Melodious Warbler (West Midlands), Icterine Warbler (Highland), Golden Oriole (Norfolk), Hoopoe (cornwall), Wryneck (Pembrokeshire), Cattle Egret (Kent), Glossy Ibis (County Waterford), three each of both Marsh Warbler and migrant Red-necked Phalaropes, and four each of Common Rosefinch and Red-backed Shrike. Significant late news concerned a Cedar Waxwing at Kilrush, County Clare, on 3rd-4th June. |

| The highlight of the day was reappearance of the Cretzschmar's Bunting on Bardsey, Gwynedd, where it again showed tantalisingly briefly. Elsewhere, new rarities included a Blyth's Reed Warbler in Essex at Holland Haven, Bonaparte's Gull in the Western Isles on St Kilda, Long-billed Dowitcher in County Wexford at The Cull, Greenish Warbler in Pembrokeshire on Skomer, and a White-rumped Sandpiper at Cley, Norfolk, whilst briefer encounters were a Snowy Owl (County Mayo), Black Stork and three Bee-eaters (Norfolk), Red-rumped Swallow (County Cork) and Red-footed Falcon (West Sussex). Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Hudsonian Whimbrel (West Sussex), Paddyfield Warbler (Norfolk), Greater Yellowlegs (Hampshire), King Eider (Aberdeenshire), Broad-billed Sandpiper and White-rumped Sandpiper (together in Lincolnshire). Scarce migrants included Melodious Warbler (West Midlands), Icterine Warbler (Highland), Marsh Warbler (Norfolk), Common Rosefinch (Dorset), Golden Oriole (Wiltshire), Hoopoe and Red-backed Shrike (Kent), and four migrant Red-necked Phalaropes. Significant late news concerned a male Black-headed Bunting in Pembrokeshire at Saundersfoot on 10th June. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of both a Paddyfield Warbler and a
Greenish Warbler on Blakeney Point, Norfolk. Elsewhere, a Gull-billed Tern
in Nottinghamshire paid a brief visit to Lound, and on the Shetland Isles a Bonaparte's Gull was new on Unst. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Hudsonian Whimbrel in West Sussex, Greater Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Collared Pratincole and Little Bittern together in Suffolk, Broad-billed Sandpiper and White-rumped Sandpiper together in Lincolnshire, Greenish Warbler on the Isles of Scilly, Black Kite in Warwickshire and Bee-eater on the Shetland Isles. Scarcities included Melodious Warbler (West Midlands), Ring-necked Duck (East Yorkshire), American Wigeon (Aberdeenshire), and two each of Icterine Warbler, Marsh Warbler, Common Rosefinch, Red-backed Shrike and migrant Red-necked Phalarope. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Cretzschmar's Bunting on Bardsey, Gwynedd, albeit only present there briefly: the sixth British record, but the first away from the Northern Isles. Equal excitement in Argyll where a Cedar Waxwing briefly visited on Tiree, the sixth record in the British Isles - although the second for that island - and the seventh Nearctic landbird to be found here since the 11th May. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Hudsonian Whimbrel still in West Sussex, Swainson's Thrush in Pembrokeshire, Greater Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Collared Pratincole in Suffolk, Broad-billed Sandpiper and White-rumped Sandpiper together in Lincolnshire, Squacco Heron in Cornwall, King Eider in both Aberdeenshire and the Shetland Isles, a Black Stork over Staffordshire, a Black Kite over Warwickshire, and Bee-eaters in East Yorkshire (6), Merseyside, Shetland Isles and Somerset (6). Scarcities included Icterine Warbler (Aberdeenshire), Short-toed Lark (Aberdeenshire), Marsh Warbler (Norfolk), Serin (Dorset), two Golden Orioles, three each of both Red-backed Shrike and migrant Red-necked Phalaropes, and four Common Rosefinches. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Hudsonian Whimbrel in Pagham Harbour, West Sussex in the early afternoon, where it remained into the evening. In Ireland a
Slate-coloured Junco arrived on Dursey Island, County Cork - only the fourth national record. Rarities elsewhere comprised the Veery still on the Orkney Isles, Swainson's Thrush in Pembrokeshire, Greater Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Collared Pratincole in Suffolk, Broad-billed Sandpiper and White-rumped Sandpiper together in Lincolnshire, Squacco Heron still in Cornwall, King Eiders in both Aberdeenshire and the Shetland Isles, White-billed Diver off Ayrshire, Bee-eaters on the Isles of Scilly (12) and Somerset (6), and single Black Storks over-flying the Isles of Scilly, Cornwall, Suffolk and Lincolnshire. Scarcities included three Marsh Warblers, two each of Common Rosefinch and Red-necked Phalarope, Icterine Warbler (Aberdeenshire), Golden Oriole and Red-backed Shrike (Shetland Isles), Short-toed Lark and Night Heron (Isles of Scilly). |

The best of the rest included Corncrake (Cheshire), Ring-necked Duck (Orkney), Red-necked Phalarope (Ayrshire), Cattle Egret (Suffolk), two Icterine Warblers, three Golden Orioles, three Marsh Warblers and at least three Common Rosefinches. |
