| Rarities today comprised the Harlequin Duck still in Aberdeenshire, American Coot on the Western Isles,
Pacific Diver and King Eider in Cornwall, Laughing Gull on the Wirral,
Forster's Tern in County Galway, Black Scoter in Northumberland,
Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in East Sussex, Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan,
Ferruginous Duck in Gloucestershire, and Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo. Scarcities included Little Bunting (Glamorgan), Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), two each of Serin, Richard's Pipit and Cattle Egret, four of both American Wigeon and Ring-necked Duck, five Shorelarks, and eight each of Surf Scoter and Rough-legged Buzzards. Totals of notable gulls were 26 Glaucous, 20 Iceland, 17 Caspian, six Ring-billed and five Kumlien's. |

| No new rarities were found today. The Laughing Gull remained a popular
attraction on the Wirral with the long staying bird also still at Ballycotton in
County Cork. The other main attraction, the drake Harlequin Duck was
still in Aberdeen. In Northumberland the Black Scoter was seen again off
Cheswick Sands.
Other long staying rarities included the Lesser Yellowlegs in Sussex, the three, somewhat elusive, Penduline Tits in Devon, the Black Duck on Scilly, Ferruginous Ducks in Hampshire and Gloucestershire and Lesser Scaups in Cornwall, Glamorgan and County Kerry. Scarcities around the country included the Little Bunting still in Glamorgan, the two Serins in Essex, as well as five Shorelarks, eight Great Grey Shrikes, six Rough-legged Buzzards, five Ring-billed Gulls, 16 Glaucous Gulls, 13 Iceland Gulls and three Ring-necked Ducks including a new bird in Somerset. |

| Thursday 5th February 2015 | ||

| Lingering rarities comprised Harlequin Duck (Aberdeenshire), Laughing Gull
(Wirral), Black Scoter (Co Kerry), Lesser Yellowlegs (East Sussex),
Pacific
Diver (Cornwall), Lesser Scaup (Cornwall) and Ferruginous Duck (Hampshire),
whilst a Cackling Goose was reported on North Uist (Western Isles) and a
possible grey morph Gyr flew over Havergate Marshes (Norfolk).
The best of the rest included Little Bunting (Glamorgan), Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), Ring-necked Duck (Western Isles), Glossy Ibis (Co Waterford), two Serins (Essex), at least one Cattle Egret (East Sussex/Kent) two Richard's Pipits and four American Wigeons. |

| Rarities today comprised the Laughing Gull still on the Wirral, Harlequin Duck in Aberdeenshire,
Pacific Diver in Cornwall, Black Scoter in County Kerry, Black Duck
on the Isles of Scilly, three Penduline Tits together in Devon, Bonaparte's Gull in Argyll,
Lesser Scaup in Glamorgan, and Lesser Yellowlegs in both County Cork and East Sussex. Scarcities included Night Heron (County Cork), Surf Scoter (County Clare), two each of Serin, Richard's Pipit and Shorelark, four each of both American Wigeon and Cattle Egret, five Rough-legged Buzzards, 10 Great Grey Shrikes, 21 Waxwings and 43 Little Auks. Notable gulls included 12 Iceland, nine Glaucous, seven Caspian, three Ring-billed and a Kumlien's. |

| Tuesday 3rd February 2015 | ||
|
||
| Highlight of the day was the discovery of a Laughing Gull at New Brighton
(Wirral), whilst in Shropshire a probable second-winter Thayer's Gull was in
Telford and a Bonaparte's Gull was in Carmarthenshire. Elsewhere lingering
rarities included Harlequin Duck (Aberdeenshire), Pacific Diver (Cornwall),
Lesser Scaup (Cornwall and Glamorgan), Bonaparte's Gull (Devon) and
Ferruginous
Duck (Gloucestershire).
The best of the rest included Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), Night Heron (Co Cork), two Cattle Egrets (Kent), two American Wigeons, two Richard's Pipits and three Serins. |

Duck (Isles of Scilly).
The best of the rest included American Wigeon (North Yorkshire), Night Heron (Co Cork), Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), Yellow-browed Warbler (Cornwall), two Serins (Essex), two Richard's Pipits (Kent and Dorset), two Glossy Ibises (Essex and Cambridgeshire), three Ring-necked Ducks, six Rough-legged Buzzards and 42 Waxwings. |

| Rarity sightings included the Harlequin Duck in Aberdeenshire,
American Coot and Black Scoter in Co Kerry, Bonaparte's Gulls
in Glamorgan and Devon, Lesser Scaup in Cornwall and Glamorgan,
Forster's Tern in Co Galway and Lesser Yellowlegs in Co Clare. In
Cornwall the Pacific Diver lingered in Mount's Bay whilst another was
reported off Pendower Beach.
The best of the rest included Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), two Serins and three Richard's Pipits. |

King Eiders in Aberdeenshire and Cornwall, Lesser Scaups in Cornwall and Glamorgan,
Ferruginous Ducks in Gloucestershire and Hampshire, and Richardson's Cackling Goose in County Sligo. Scarcities included Rose-cloured Starling (Northumberland), Night Heron (County Cork), Shorelark (Lancashire), two each of Serin (together in Essex), Cattle Egret (together in Kent) and Surf Scoter, three of Richard's Pipit and Ring-necked Duck, four each of American Wigeon and Lapland Bunting, nine Rough-legged Buzzards, 11 Great Grey Shrikes, 14 Tundra Bean Geese, 31 Waxwings and 33 Little Auks. Notable gulls included 30 Glaucous, 20 Iceland, 13 Caspian, six Ring-billed and five Kumlien's. |

Notable gulls totals were 31 Glaucous, 12 Iceland, eight Ring-billed, seven Caspian and two Kumlien's. |

| New discoveries comprised a Pacific Golden Plover in Lincolnshire and
American Herring Gull on Western Isles, whilst King Eiders in
Shetland, Aberdeenshire and Cornwall, Black Scoter in Northumberland,
Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire and Ridgway's Cackling Goose in
Dumfries & Galloway were also logged.
The best of the rest included Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), two Cattle Egrets (Kent), two Serins (Essex), two Richard's Pipits and four American Wigeons. |
