| In Co Donegal the Slaty-backed Gull remained at Killybegs, but only until mid
morning. Elsewhere lingering rarities included Harlequin Duck and Spotted
Sandpiper (Aberdeenshire), Ivory Gull (Highland), Lesser Scaup (Cornwall,
Glamorgan and Co Kerry), American Coot and Black Scoter (Co Kerry),
Bonaparte's
Gull (Devon), Richardson's Canada Goose (Co Sligo), King Eider (Fife),
Pacific
Diver (Cornwall), Blue-winged Teal (Orkney), Laughing Gull (Co Cork),
Lesser Yellowlegs (East Sussex and Co Dublin) and
Ferruginous Duck (Hampshire).
The best of the rest included Night Heron (Kent), Glossy Ibis (Lincolnshire), Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), two Cattle Egrets, two Waxwings, three Richard's Pipits, five Yellow-browed Warblers, six American Wigeons, seven Ring-necked Ducks and at least ten Rough-legged Buzzards. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Slaty-backed Gull at Killybegs, County Donegal, where it showed well in the
afternoon. The second record for Ireland, with a further record from Britain. Rarities elsewhere included a Blue-winged Teal new on the Orkney Isles in Harray, Mainland, whilst lingering rarities comprised the Harlequin Duck and Spotted Sandpiper both still in Aberdeenshire, American Coot in County Kerry, Ivory Gull in Highland, Laughing Gull in County Cork, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Richardson's Cackling Goose on the Western Isles, Lesser Yellowlegs in East Sussex, Dusky Warbler in West Sussex, and Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire. Notable scarcities included Night Heron (Kent), Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), Richard's Pipit (North Yorkshire), Kumlien's Gull (Warwickshire), Caspian Gull (Argyll), and Surf Scoter (County Wexford). |

| A Dusky Warbler was a good find today in Lancashire at Marton Mere
near Blackpool. It represents the 3rd county record. At the other end of the
country, the Dusky Warbler was still to be found at Chichester in Sussex.
In Highland the juvenile Ivory Gull was relocated in Ullapool Harbour this afternoon and, in Aberdeenshire, the Harlequin Duck was still to be found on the River Don at Aberdeen. County Kerry still played host to a Black Scoter and an American Coot and other lingering rarities included three Penduline Tits in Devon, a Lesser Yellowlegs in Sussex, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon and Lesser Scaups in Cornwall, Ayrshire, Glamorgan and Powys. There was a Night Heron and two Cattle Egrets in Kent and amongst more typical winter fare comes the unusual wintering record of four Ring Ouzels in the hills of Gwynedd in North Wales. |

| Lingering rarities present today included the Harlequin Duck in
Aberdeenshire, Pacific Diver in Cornwall, Dusky Warbler and
Lesser Yellowlegs in Sussex, three Penduline Tits in Devon, single
Lesser Scaups in Cornwall and Ayrshire, Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire
and Richardson's Cackling Goose in the Western Isles.
The best of the rest were a Night Heron (Kent), Surf Scoter (Suffolk), Richard's Pipit (Norfolk), two Yellow-browed Warblers (Devon and Cornwall), two American Wigeons (both Cornwall) and three Ring-necked Ducks (Dumfries and Galloway and Western Isles). |

| Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were the Harlequin Duck in Aberdeenshire,
Lesser Yellowlegs in East Sussex, Lesser Scaup in Ayrshire, and Ferruginous Duck in Gloucestershire, Scarcities included Night Heron (Kent), Surf Scoter (Suffolk), Richard's Pipit (Somerset), two each of Cattle Egret and Little Auk, three of Ring-billed Gull, Yellow-browed Warbler, Shorelark and Lapland Bunting, four Ring-necked Ducks, six Great Grey Shrikes, nine each of Iceland and Caspian Gulls, 10 of Rough-legged Buzzard and Glaucous Gull, and a total of 18 Tundra Bean Geese. |

rarities comprised Harlequin Duck (Aberdeenshire), Dusky Warbler
(West Sussex), Forster's Tern (Co Clare), Penduline Tits (Devon),
Lesser Scaup (Ayrshire and Cornwall), Ferruginous Duck (Hampshire)
and Lesser Yellowlegs (Co Dublin and East Sussex).
The best of the rest included Waxwing (East Yorkshire), Glossy Ibis (Cambridgeshire), Richard's Pipit (Norfolk), Surf Scoter (Essex/Suffolk), Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland), two Cattle Egrets (Kent), three American Wigeons, three Yellow-browed Warblers and six Ring-necked Ducks. |

| The second Greater Yellowlegs for Hampshire was discovered at
Titchfield Haven NNR mid morning, where it remained all day.
A Dark-breasted Barn Owl was reported from Cambridgeshire, whilst lingering rarities included the Harlequin Duck in Aberdeenshire, Black Scoter and American Coot in County Kerry, Pacific Diver in Cornwall, three Penduline Tits in Devon, Laughing Gull in County Cork, single Lesser Yellowlegs' in Sussex and County Dublin, Richardson's Cackling Goose in the Western Isles, single Ferruginous Ducks in Hampshire and Gloucestershire and Eastern Black Redstart in the Isles of Scilly. |

Aberdeenshire, Black Scoter in County Kerry, Pacific Diver in

Lesser Yellowlegs in Sussex (with another of the latter still in County
Clare), Spotted Sandpiper in Aberdeenshire, single Lesser Scaups
in Cornwall, Glamorgan and Ayrshire, King Eider in Fife, single
Ferruginous Ducks in Hampshire and Gloucestershire and Eastern Black
Redstart in the Isles of Scilly.
Scarcity highlights included a Richard's Pipit, a Waxwing, two Yellow-browed Warblers, four Shorelarks, three American Wigeon, four Green-winged Teals, five Surf Scoters, five Ring-necked Ducks, five Little Auks, six Pomarine Skuas, six Rough-legged Buzzards and seven Great Grey Shrikes. Gulls included a Kumlien's Gull, 14 Iceland Gulls, 29 Glaucous Gulls and eight Ring-billed Gulls. |

its second day off Rossbeigh, County Kerry.
