Monday 11th August 2014  
  In Shetland a Greenish Warbler was discovered at Sumburgh Farm, Mainland, whilst the Sykes's Warbler remained on Whalsay.

Other lingering rarities included the Stilt Sandpiper in Northumberland, Citrine Wagtail in Gwynedd, Pacific Golden Plover in Orkney, five Black-winged Stilts in Sussex and at least one Bee-eater on the Isle of Wight.

Sunday 10th August 2014  
  The highlight of the day was a Sykes's Warbler, which was trapped at Symbister on Whalsay, Shetland.

Many eyes were drawn to the sea, however, as ex-Hurricane Bertha tracked across the country. The best sighting was a Fea's Petrel, seen off two headlands in County Mayo, whilst a Wilson's Petrel, 95 Cory's Shearwaters and 77 Great Shearwaters were logged.

Lingering rarities included the Stilt Sandpiper in Northumberland, Citrine Wagtail in Gwynedd, at least two Black-winged Stilts in Sussex, at least two Bee-eaters on the Isle of Wight, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent and Lesser Scaup in Somerset.

Saturday 9th August 2014  
  The highlight of the day could have been the white Gyr along the cliff at Sidestrand, Norfolk, had it lingered for more than a few minutes. Further south, an Alpine Swift flew south over Kingsdown, Kent and a Wilson's Petrel was seen from a pelagic trip off the Isles of Scilly. A juvenile Citrine Wagtail was at Grindon Lough, Northumberland briefly, with another still on Bardsey Island, Gwynedd.

Other lingering rarities included the Black-winged Pratincole in Cambridgeshire, Stilt Sandpiper in Northumberland, White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk, five Black-winged Stilts in both Sussex and Suffolk, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Laughing Gull in County Cork and at least four Bee-eaters on the Isle of Wight.

Friday 8th August 2014  
  The first Citrine Wagtail of the autumn was on Bardsey Island, Gwynedd from mid morning onwards. It was a crisp juvenile, and follows a first-summer female which was present on the island for two days in late May. Elsewhere, a juvenile Black-winged Stilt was reported from Keyhaven, Hampshire, with three juveniles also remaining at Cavenham, Suffolk.

Other lingering rarities included the Stilt Sandpiper in Northumberland, Black-winged Pratincole in Cambridgeshire, single White-rumped Sandpipers in Norfolk and Lincolnshire, three Bee-eaters on the Isle of Wight and Lesser Scaup in Somerset.

Thursday 7th August 2014  
  New discoveries included a Terek Sandpiper in East Yorkshire and Greenish Warbler on Shetland, whilst a Caspian Tern was reported in flight off the Lothian coastline.

The Stilt Sandpiper (Northumberland), Pacific Golden Plover (Orkney), Laughing Gull (Co Cork), Black-winged Pratincole (Cambridgeshire), White-rumped Sandpiper (Norfolk), breeding Bee-eaters (Isle of Wight), Lesser Scaup (Somerset) and families of Black-winged Stilts (Suffolk and West Sussex) all lingered.

The best of the rest included Wryneck and Barred Warbler (Shetland), Red-backed Shrike (Buckinghamshire), Icterine Warbler (Orkney), two Cattle Egrets, two Spotted Crakes, three Pectoral Sandpipers and at least five Glossy Ibises.

Wednesday 6th August 2014  
  Today's new discoveries included a Franklin's Gull at Cley NWT (Norfolk), Greenish Warbler on Fair Isle (Shetland) and White-rumped Sandpiper at Gibraltar Point NNR (Lincolnshire), whilst at Caspian Tern was reported at Dungeness (Kent).

Lingering rarities comprised Stilt Sandpiper (Northumberland), Black-winged Pratincole (Cambridgeshire), White-rumped Sandpiper (Norfolk), Pacific Golden Plover (Orkney), four Bee-eaters (Isles of Wight) and Black-winged Stilts (Suffolk [6] and West Sussex [5]).

The best of the rest included four Spotted Crakes, at least three Cattle Egrets, three Glossy Ibises, two Pectoral Sandpipers, Red-necked Phalarope and Barred Warbler (Fair Isle), Purple Heron (Somerset) and Red-backed Shrike (Buckinghamshire).

Tuesday 5th August 2014  
  New discoveries included a Caspian Tern at Exmouth (Devon) and a Rustic Bunting on Unst (Shetland). The Stilt Sandpiper in Northumberland, Black-winged Pratincole in Cambridgeshire, White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk, Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex, Pacific Golden Plover on Orkney and Bee-eaters on Isle of Wight all lingered.

The best of the rest included at least 46 Great Shearwaters, at least 11 Cory's Shearwaters, five Glossy Ibises, at least three Long-tailed Skuas, three Cattle Egrets, two Pectoral Sandpipers, Night Heron (Warwickshire), Purple Heron (Norfolk), Barred Warbler (Shetland) and Spotted Crake (London).

Monday 4th August 2014  
  Rarities today comprised the Stilt Sandpiper still in Northumberland, Black-winged Pratincole in Cambridgeshire, Laughing Gull in County Cork, White-rumped Sandpiper in Lincolnshire and Norfolk, Lesser Scaup in Somerset, the family of five Black-winged Stilts still in West Sussex, three Bee-eaters on the Isle of Wight, with a further two Bee-eaters a fresh discovery at Rayleigh, Essex.

Scarcities included Melodious Warbler (Isles of Scilly), Red-backed Shrike (Buckinghamshire), Long-tailed Skua (West Sussex), Night Heron (Warwickshire), Temminck's Stint (Norfolk), Spotted Crake (London and Norfolk), Cattle Egret (Gloucestershire and Lincolnshire), Surf Scoter (two in Aberdeenshire), and three each of both Pectoral Sandpiper and Glossy Ibis.

At sea, a Wilson's Petrel was off the Isles of Scilly, with 31 Cory's and 83 Great Shearwaters between there and Cornwall, and a further 40 Great Shearwaters were located off County Cork.

Sunday 3rd August 2014  
  The highlight of the day was the relocation of the adult Stilt Sandpiper in Northumberland, where it was found at Druridge Pools NR. New discoveries included a Fea's Petrel past Malin Head, County Donegal, a Bee-eater at Sea Palling, Norfolk and a Black Kite near Colchester, Essex.

Lingering rarities included the Black-winged Pratincole on the Ouse Washes, Cambridgeshire, single White-rumped Sandpipers at Frampton Marsh RSPB, Lincolnshire and Hickling Broad NWT, Norfolk, Pacific Golden Plover on North Ronaldsay, Orkney, five Black-winged Stilts in Sussex (relocating to Pulborough Brooks RSPB) and a single in Suffolk at Great Livermere, three adult Bee-eaters at Niton, Isle of Wight and the Bonaparte's Gull at Oare Marshes KWT, Kent.

Saturday 2nd August 2014  
  New discoveries today included a White-rumped Sandpiper in Lincolnshire at Frampton Marsh, Red-footed Falcon in County Wexford near Lady's Island Lake, Wilson's Petrel off the Isles of Scilly, and a Black-winged Stilt flew over Blashford Lakes, Hampshire.

Other rarities comprised the Black-winged Pratincole again in Cambridgeshire, Pacific Golden Plover still in Staffordshire, White-rumped Sandpiper in Norfolk, Ross's Gull in Devon, Bonaparte's Gull in Kent, Laughing Gull in County Cork, five Black-winged Stilts together in West Sussex, and at least four Bee-eaters still at the nest on the Isle of Wight.

Scarcities included the first Melodious Warbler of the year and Hoopoe (both Dorset), Night Heron (Warwickshire), Temminck's Stint (Norfolk), Ring-billed Gull (County Galway), Red-backed Shrike (Buckinghamshire and Lincolnshire), Pectoral Sandpiper (Cheshire and Hampshire), Spotted Crake (Cheshire (2) and Norfolk (2)), three Cattle Egrets (together in Gloucestershire), and a total of five Glossy Ibises.

Other notable seabirds were nine Cory's Shearwaters between Dorset and the Isles of Scilly, Great Shearwater off Scilly, and a Long-tailed Skua passing Essex.
