  Lingering rarities seen today included just the Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon and the family of Black-winged Stilts in Sussex.

Scarcity highlights included three Night Herons, three Glossy Ibises, a Honey Buzzard and a Balearic Shearwater.

Monday 7th July 2014  
  The highlight of the day was confirmation that the Black-winged Pratincole had returned to Northumberland, where it remained at Holywell Pond until mid morning before, once again, flying off.

Elsewhere, Lesser Grey Shrike, Marsh Warbler and Pectoral Sandpiper were all together on the Shetland Isles, the Night Heron showed again in Gloucestershire, a Pectoral Sandpiper lingered in Norfolk, a Serin was seen briefly in East Sussex, and Glossy Ibis remained in Cambridgeshire, Dorset, Lincolnshire and West Yorkshire.

Sunday 6th July 2014  
  A summer plumaged Spotted Sandpiper was a nice find in Clyde late afternoon, on the River Clyde by the Baron's Haugh RSPB reserve.

Lingering rarities seen today included the Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Black-winged Pratincole in County Durham early morning only (a pratincole sp was reported from Northumberland briefly this evening), Lesser Grey Shrike in Shetland, Ross's Gull in Devon, two Black-winged Stilts in Sussex and Lesser Scaup in Somerset.

The highlights of the scarcities seen today were a Night Heron, a Pectoral Sandpiper and seven Glossy Ibises.

Saturday 5th July 2014  
  Two new Mega rarities were discovered today, the most widely appreciated of which was a Black-winged Pratincole in County Durham. Found mid morning and still present at dusk, it showed well at Hurworth Burn Reservoir. A Black-browed Albatross flew east past Portland Bill, Dorset at 7am, and was seen from a boat off Durlston Country Park an hour and a half later.

Lingering rarities seen today included the Short-toed Eagle in Hampshire, Ross's Gull in Devon and Laughing Gull in County Cork.

Scarcity highlights involved a Hoopoe, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Red-backed Shrike, a Pectoral Sandpiper, a Grey Phalarope, a Temminck's Stint, two Marsh Warblers and two Glossy Ibises.

Friday 4th July 2014  
  Lingering rarities included Bridled Tern (Northumberland), Laughing Gull (Co Cork), Black-winged Stilts (West Sussex), Lesser Scaup (Somerset) and Ross's Gull (Devon).

The best of the rest included Pectoral Sandpiper in Norfolk, Marsh Warbler on Fair Isle, Rose-coloured Starling in Lancashire, Long-tailed Skua off Western Isles, Cory's Shearwater off Co Cork, Glossy Ibises in Perth & Kinross, Dorset, Lincolnshire, Cumbria, Cambridgeshire, West Yorkshire and Kent, whilst a Purple Heron was reported in Hampshire.

Late news related to a a party of three Night Herons in Somerset yesterday and a Wilson's Petrel logged from a pelagic off Co Cork on Sunday 29th June.

Thursday 3rd July 2014  
  Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were the Bridled Tern in Northumberland on the Farne Islands, Ross's Gull in Devon at Topsham, Laughing Gull in County Cork at Ballycotton, and Lesser Scaup in Somerset at Blagdon Lake.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Lancashire), Temminck's Stint (Northumberland), Pectoral Sandpiper (Norfolk), Corncrake (East Yorkshire) and six scattered Glossy Ibises.

Wednesday 2nd July 2014  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Blue-winged Teal in Nottinghamshire at Lound, although it could not be relocated later in the day.

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Short-toed Eagle in Hampshire, Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon and Lesser Scaup in Somerset.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Lancashire), Marsh Warbler (Shetland Isles), Grey Phalarope (Orkney Isles), Temminck's Stint (Northumberland), Corncrake (East Yorkshire) and five Glossy Ibises.

Tuesday 1st July 2014  
  The highlight of the day was confirmation that the territorial Iberian Chiffchaff is still present on Rousay, Orkney Isles, where it was first heard on 7th June.

Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Short-toed Eagle in Hampshire, Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon, Laughing Gull in County Cork, Red-footed Falcon in Cornwall and Lesser Scaup in Somerset.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Lancashire and Suffolk), American Golden Plover (County Mayo), Spotted Crake (Cheshire), Pectoral Sandpiper (Shetland Isles), Cattle Egret (Northumberland), and eight Glossy Ibises.

Monday 30th June 2014  
  In Hampshire the wandering 2nd-summer Short-toed Eagle reappeared in the New Forest, whilst in Kent another Short-toed Eagle was reported over Stodmarsh NNR. In Somerset a Lesser Scaup was at Blagdon Lake whilst the Ross's Gull (Devon) and Lesser Grey Shrike (Shetland) both lingered.

The best of the rest included Rose-coloured Starlings in Lancashire and Suffolk, Glossy Ibises in Perth & Kinross, Dorset, West Yorkshire and Cumbria, Dotterel in Lancashire and Pectoral Sandpiper and Marsh Warbler on Shetland.

Sunday 29th June 2014  
  Rarities today comprised the Short-toed Eagle still in East Sussex, Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon, the family of Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex, Red-footed Falcon still in Cornwall with another briefly in Dorset.

Scarcities included single Rose-coloured Starlings in Lancashire, Moray and Suffolk, Common Rosefinch (Gwynedd), Golden Oriole (Suffolk), Red-backed Shrike (Norfolk), Grey Phalarope (Orkney Isles), Dotterel (Lancashire), Ring-necked Duck (County Derry), Cory's Shearwater (Aberdeenshire), two Pectoral Sandpipers and six Glossy Ibises.
