| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Blue-winged Teal in Nottinghamshire at Lound, although it could not be relocated later in the day. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Short-toed Eagle in Hampshire, Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon and Lesser Scaup in Somerset. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Lancashire), Marsh Warbler (Shetland Isles), Grey Phalarope (Orkney Isles), Temminck's Stint (Northumberland), Corncrake (East Yorkshire) and five Glossy Ibises. |

| The highlight of the day was confirmation that the territorial Iberian Chiffchaff is still present on Rousay, Orkney Isles, where it was first heard on 7th June. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the Short-toed Eagle in Hampshire, Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon, Laughing Gull in County Cork, Red-footed Falcon in Cornwall and Lesser Scaup in Somerset. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Lancashire and Suffolk), American Golden Plover (County Mayo), Spotted Crake (Cheshire), Pectoral Sandpiper (Shetland Isles), Cattle Egret (Northumberland), and eight Glossy Ibises. |

| In Hampshire the wandering 2nd-summer Short-toed Eagle reappeared in the New
Forest, whilst in Kent another Short-toed Eagle was reported over Stodmarsh NNR. In Somerset a
Lesser Scaup was at Blagdon Lake whilst the Ross's Gull (Devon)
and Lesser Grey Shrike (Shetland) both lingered.
The best of the rest included Rose-coloured Starlings in Lancashire and Suffolk, Glossy Ibises in Perth & Kinross, Dorset, West Yorkshire and Cumbria, Dotterel in Lancashire and Pectoral Sandpiper and Marsh Warbler on Shetland. |

| Rarities today comprised the Short-toed Eagle still in East Sussex, Bridled Tern in Northumberland,
Ross's Gull in Devon, the family of Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex,
Red-footed Falcon still in Cornwall with another briefly in Dorset. Scarcities included single Rose-coloured Starlings in Lancashire, Moray and Suffolk, Common Rosefinch (Gwynedd), Golden Oriole (Suffolk), Red-backed Shrike (Norfolk), Grey Phalarope (Orkney Isles), Dotterel (Lancashire), Ring-necked Duck (County Derry), Cory's Shearwater (Aberdeenshire), two Pectoral Sandpipers and six Glossy Ibises. |

| Lingering rarities included the Short-toed Eagle in East Sussex,
Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Red-footed Falcon in Cornwall,
Blyth's Reed Warbler on Shetland, Blue-winged Teal in Aberdeenshire
and family of Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex. In Co Cork a
Laughing Gull was at Ballycotton for its second day.
The best of the rest included Red-backed Shrike (Norfolk), Pectoral Sandpiper (Shetland), three Rose-coloured Starlings (Lancashire, Moray and Suffolk) and four Glossy Ibises (Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Dorset and South Yorkshire). |

| A female Red-footed Falcon showed well from mid morning onwards on the
moor at Porthgwarra, Cornwall, whilst an Alpine Swift was reported over
fields at Bulmer, Essex mid afternoon.
Lingering rarities included the Short-toed Eagle and two Black-winged Stilts in Sussex, Bridled Tern and Little Bittern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon and King Eider in Aberdeenshire. Scarcity highlights were a Rose-coloured Starling, a Temminck's Stint, a Grey Phalarope, a Honey Buzzard and six Glossy Ibises. |

Scarcity highlights were a Temminck's Stint (Northumberland), two Rose-coloured Starlings (Suffolk and Argyll), Red-necked Phalarope (Norfolk), Ring-necked Duck (Angus) and seven Glossy Ibises. |

| Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were the Short-toed Eagle in East Sussex, both
Bridled Tern and Little Bittern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull
in Devon, Blue-winged Teal in Aberdeenshire, and Lesser Grey Shrike on the Shetland Isles. A
Blyth's Reed Warbler trapped on Fair Isle had been ringed at Virkie, Mainland, Shetland on 22nd June 2014. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Suffolk), White Stork (Hampshire), American Wigeon (Western Isles), Ring-necked Duck (Angus), three Marsh Warblers (all on Fair Isle), and four scattered Glossy Ibises. A Black Kite in Suffolk at Wrentham proved to be a ringed escape present in the county since 13th June. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Scops Owl on the Shetland Isles, on Yell, although it could not be relocated there
later in the day. The Short-toed Eagle was reported again: during the morning in the New Forest, Hampshire, and then late in the afternoon back in East Sussex at Ashdown Forest. Rarities elsewhere comprised both the Bridled Tern and Little Bittern still in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon, two Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex, and a Black Kite again in Suffolk. Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Orkney Isles), White Stork (Hampshire), Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire), Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland and Suffolk), Marsh Warbler (Shetland Isles (2)) and six Glossy Ibises. |

The best of the rest included Woodchat Shrike (Orkney), Temminck's Stint (Cleveland), Rose-coloured Starlings (Argyll and Suffolk), American Wigeon (Western Isles) and Common Rosefinch (Forth). Late news from yesterday related to a Lesser Yellowlegs in Northumberland. |
