Tuesday 24th June 2014  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Scops Owl on the Shetland Isles, on Yell, although it could not be relocated there later in the day.

The Short-toed Eagle was reported again: during the morning in the New Forest, Hampshire, and then late in the afternoon back in East Sussex at Ashdown Forest.

Rarities elsewhere comprised both the Bridled Tern and Little Bittern still in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon, two Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex, and a Black Kite again in Suffolk.

Scarcities included Woodchat Shrike (Orkney Isles), White Stork (Hampshire), Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire), Rose-coloured Starling (Northumberland and Suffolk), Marsh Warbler (Shetland Isles (2)) and six Glossy Ibises.

Monday 23rd June 2014  
  Today's highlights included a Little Bittern present for its second day in Northumberland, Black Kites in London and Suffolk and lingering Bridled Tern (Northumberland), Black-winged Stilts (West Sussex) and Ross's Gull (Devon).

The best of the rest included Woodchat Shrike (Orkney), Temminck's Stint (Cleveland), Rose-coloured Starlings (Argyll and Suffolk), American Wigeon (Western Isles) and Common Rosefinch (Forth).

Late news from yesterday related to a Lesser Yellowlegs in Northumberland.

Sunday 22nd June 2014  
  The second Laughing Gull for County Wicklow was discovered today - a first-summer bird at Kilcoole briefly late morning before it flew south. A Black Stork was again seen in Greater Manchester, this time over North Reddish, whilst single Black Kites flew over Flamborough Head, Yorkshire and Reydon then Benacre, Suffolk. A Blyth's Reed Warbler was at Virkie, Shetland.

Lingering rarities included the Short-toed Eagle in Hampshire, Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon, Lesser Grey Shrike in Shetland, Greenish Warbler in Lothian, two Black-winged Stilts in Sussex and King Eider in Aberdeenshire.

Saturday 21st June 2014  
  In Cambridgeshire a Roller was seen at Warboys late morning, but wasn't present fifteen minutes after the initial sighting and wasn't seen for the rest of the day. Three Black Kites were seen today, over Corley (Warwickshire), Dunwich (Suffolk) and Catisfield (Hampshire).

Lingering rarities included the Short-toed Eagle in Sussex, Bridled Tern in Northumberland, Ross's Gull in Devon, Greenish Warbler in Lothian, Blue-winged Teal in Aberdeenshire and two Black-winged Stilts in Sussex.

Friday 20th June 2014  
  In Northumberland, the adult Bridled Tern returned to the Farne Islands, where it spent much of last summer, on and off.

Further south, the Short-toed Eagle lingered on in Sussex in Ashdown Forest, whilst other long staying rarities included the Ross's and Bonaparte's Gulls in Devon, Greenish Warbler in Lothian, Black-winged Stilts in Sussex and Blue-winged Teal in Aberdeenshire.

Scarcity highlights included three Rose-coloured Starlings (Suffolk, Highland and County Galway), Ring-necked Duck (Angus), American Wigeon (Western Isles) and White Stork (Somerset).

Thursday 19th June 2014  
  Two White-throated Sparrows were discovered today; one at Landguard NR (Suffolk) and another at Otter Ferry (Argyll). Elsewhere new rarities comprised a Laughing Gull on Fair Isle (where the Bridled Tern remained), Black Kites in Essex, Wiltshire and Surrey, Bonaparte's Gull on Isles of Scilly and at least two Bee-eaters in Suffolk.

Lingering rarities included Short-toed Eagle in East Sussex, Citrine Wagtail in Highland, Greenish Warbler in Lothian, Lesser Scaup in Cheshire, family of five Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex and Blue-winged Teal in Aberdeenshire.

The best of the rest included American Wigeon (Western Isles), Rose-coloured Starling (Suffolk), Red-breasted Flycatcher (Argyll), White Stork (Somerset), Grey Phalarope (Orkney), White-winged Black Tern (Surrey) and Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire) in addition to two Golden Orioles and three Glossy Ibises.

Wednesday 18th June 2014  
  The highlight of the day was the continued presence of three mega rarities, with the Short-toed Eagle still showing well in East Sussex at Ashdown Forest, the territorial Spectacled Warbler in Norfolk at Burnham Overy Dunes, and the Bridled Tern on Fair Isle, Shetland Isles.

Elsewhere, a Citrine Wagtail was discovered in Highland at Balnakeil, a Ross's Gull was reported briefly in Lincolnshire, the Black Scoter remained in Cleveland, as did the Lesser Grey Shrike on the Shetland Isles, Ross's Gull and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Blue-winged Teal in Aberdeenshire, Greenish Warbler in Lothian, Western Subalpine Warbler on the Orkney Isles, and the family of five Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex.

Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Anglesey then Merseyside), Rose-coloured Starling (Suffolk), Marsh Warbler (Orkney Isles), Common Rosefinch (Shetland isles), Hoopoe (East Yorkshire), Purple Heron (Somerset), and five Glossy Ibises.

Tuesday 17th June 2014  
  The highlight of the day was the identification of a Black Scoter in Cleveland off Redcar, where it had first been seen yesterday. Elsewhere, a Western Subalpine Warbler was new on North Ronaldsay, Orkney Isles.

Lingering rarities comprised the Short-toed Eagle still in East Sussex, both Bridled Tern and Lesser Grey Shrike on the Shetland Isles, Spectacled Warbler in Norfolk, Ross's Gull and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Cheshire, and family groups of Black-winged Stilt in both Kent and West Sussex.

Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Anglesey), Golden Oriole (Isle of Scilly), Common Rosefinch (County Galway), Grey Phalarope (Orkney Isles), Surf Scoter (Aberdeenshire), Marsh Warbler (two on the Shetland Isles), Rose-coloured Starling (County Galway and Suffolk), and four Glossy Ibises.

Monday 16th June 2014  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Bridled Tern in an Arctic Tern colony on Fair Isle. Elsewhere on the Shetland Isles, a Lesser Grey Shrike was found on Unst at Baltasound.

Lingering rarities were headlined by the Short-toed Eagle still in the Ashdown Forest, East Sussex, whilst the Scops Owl remained on the Orkney Isles, as did the territorial Spectacled Warbler in Norfolk, Ross's Gull and Bonaparte's Gull together in Devon, Greenish Warbler in Lothian, Blue-winged Teal and Savi's Warbler together in Aberdeenshire, the family of five Black-winged Stilts in West Sussex, and now two Lesser Scaups in Cheshire.

Scarcities included White-winged Black Tern (Anglesey), Red-breasted Flycatcher and American Wigeon (Western Isles), Red-necked Phalarope (Norfolk), Shorelark (Cornwall), Marsh Warbler (Orkney Isles), Hoopoe (Wiltshire), Pectoral Sandpiper (West Yorkshire), Rose-coloured Starling (County Galway and Suffolk), and Glossy Ibis (Lincolnshire and Perrth and Kinross).

Sunday 15th June 2014  
  The highlight of the day was, once again, the wandering second-summer Short-toed Eagle. Today it was seen back in the Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, in the same area as on the 10th June, where it spent the afternoon before landing out of view mid evening.

Further north, a Scops Owl was flushed into a mistnet at Holland House, North Ronaldsay early morning.

Other lingering rarities included the Spectacled Warbler in Norfolk, Ross's Gull and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Greenish Warbler in Lothian, Savi's Warbler in Suffolk, Blue-winged Teal and King Eider in Aberdeenshire, Lesser Scaups in Cheshire and County Derry and Black-winged Stilts in Kent (six) and Sussex (five).
