| Highlight of the day was the discovery of a Red-flanked Bluetail near
Marshfield (Gloucestershire). Elsewhere news of a Two-barred Crossbill at Hoveton
Hall was released (where it has been present for at least a month) and an
American Herring Gull was at Cobh (Co Cork).
Lingering rarities included Sora (Isles of Scilly), Squacco Heron (Kent), Long-billed Dowitcher (Hampshire), Lesser Scaup (Staffordshire, Cornwall and Glamorgan), six Two-barred Crossbills (South Yorkshire), American Coot (Highland), Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler (Warwickshire) and White-billed Diver and Bonaparte's Gull (Devon). The best of the rest included Richard's Pipit (Norfolk), American Wigeon (Gwent), Yellow-browed Warblers (Worcestershire and Somerset) and Serin and Rose-coloured Starling (Isles of Scilly). In Co Mayo a dead American Purple Gallinule was found on Carne Golf Course yesterday. |

| Ever rising water levels at Lower Moors, St Mary's, Scilly pushed a Sora
into a viewable area near the Shooters' Pool today (where one was seen briefly
back in autumn 2013).
An adult White-billed Diver was seen flying past Burghead, Moray, and an American Herring Gull was at Cobh, County Cork. Lingering rarities still present today included the American Coot in Highland, Pacific Diver in County Tyrone, White-billed Diver again in Devon, Laughing Gull in County Cork, single Hume's Yellow-browed Warblers in Warwickshire and Kent, King Eider in Lothian, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon and single Lesser Scaups in Staffordshire, Glamorgan and Cornwall. Two-barred Crossbills were in Gloucestershire (six) and Yorkshire (five). |

| An adult Azorean Yellow-legged Gull at Silver Strand, County Cork was
the only new rarity discovered today.
Lingerers included the American Coot in Highland, Pied-billed Grebe on the Western Isles, Pacific Diver in County Tyrone, Hume's Yellow-browed Warblers in Warwickshire and Kent (two), Laughing Gull in County Cork, Long-billed Dowitcher in Hampshire, White-billed Diver in Aberdeenshire, Lesser Scaup in Staffordshire and Bonaparte's Gull in Devon. Two-barred Crossbills were in Shropshire (two), Yorkshire (seven) and Norfolk. |

| Lingering rarities seen today included the Ivory Gull in
County Kerry, single Hume's Yellow-browed Warblers in Warwickshire and
Kent, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Staffordshire and
White-billed Diver in Aberdeenshire.
Scarcity highlights were represented by a Pallas's Warbler, a Grey Phalarope, two Rough-legged Buzzards, two American Wigeon, three Green-winged Teals, four Kumlien's Gulls, six Great Grey Shrikes, ten Shorelarks and 22 Parrot Crossbills. |

The best of the rest included six Glossy Ibises, three Yellow-browed Warblers and both Serin and Rose-coloured Starling on Isles of Scilly. |

| Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were the American Coot in Highland,
American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Northamptonshire, two
Two-barred Crossbills together in Gloucestershire, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, and
Lesser Scaups in Cornwall, Glamorgan and Staffordshire. Scarcities included Serin and Rose-coloured Starling (together on the Isles of Scilly), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), Surf Scoter (Western Isles), Cattle Egret (County Waterford), three Yellow-browed Warblers, eight Parrot Crossbills (Norfolk), nine Glossy Ibises, and 12 Shorelarks. Scarce gulls comprised 38 Glaucous, 21 Iceland, 10 Kumlien's, seven Caspian, three Ring-billed, with a Sabine's Gull passing Northumberland. |

| Rarities noted in Britain today were the American Coot still in Highland,
American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in
Warwickshire, three Two-barred Crossbills together in South Yorkshire, two
King Eiders together in Moray, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Ferruginous Duck in
Hampshire, and single Lesser Scaup in both Glamorgan and Staffordshire. Meanwhile, in Ireland the
Pacific Diver remained in County Tyrone, as did the Ross's Gull in County Dublin,
Black Duck and King Eider in County Mayo, and Laughing Gull in County Cork Scracities included eight each of Glossy Ibis and Parrot Crossbill, five Snow Geese, four each of Surf Scoter and Rough-legged Buzzard, two Shorelarks, and a Ring-necked Duck (Ayrshire). Other notable gulls comprised 32 Glaucous, 12 Iceland, eight Caspian, four Ring-billed and three Kumlien's. |

Warwickshire), Pacific Diver (Co Tyrone), Lesser Scaup (Cornwall
and Glamorgan), Ferruginous Duck (Hampshire) and Two-barred Crossbills
(at least five in South Yorkshire and three in Shropshire).
Scarcities included Pallas's Warbler in Kent, Yellow-browed Warbler in Worcestershire, Rose-coloured Starling and Serin on Isles of Scilly, 17 Parrot Crossbills and eight Glossy Ibises. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of a Hume's Yellow-browed
Warbler at Coleshill, Warwickshire. Predictably, this is a first for the
county, and only the second for the West Midlands area, following one at
Westport Lake, Staffordshire on 20th December 1994.
Lingering rarities still present today included the American Coot in Highland, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Pacific Diver in County Tyrone, Ross's Gull in County Dublin, Laughing Gull in County Cork, Azorean Yellow-legged Gull in County Wexford, two Hume's Yellow-browed Warblers in Kent, two King Eiders in Lothian, Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan, Lesser Yellowlegs and Ferruginous Duck in Hampshire and single Lesser Scaups in Cornwall, Glamorgan and Staffordshire. Two-barred Crossbills were in Shropshire (three), Yorkshire (seven) and Gloucestershire (11). |
