The best of the rest included 12 Glossy Ibises, at least three Parrot Crossbills, Rose-coloured Starling in Scilly and Yellow-browed Warblers in Scilly and Devon. |

| The highlight of the day was a white morph Gyr seen briefly near Reiss, Highland.
Elsewhere, lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the American Coot
in Highland, Pacific Diver in County Tyrone, Pied-billed Grebe and
Lesser Scaup on the Western Isles, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire,
Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Kent, 15 Two-barred Crossbills together in Gloucestershire,
Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, King Eider in Lothian, Lesser Yellowlegs
and Ferruginous Duck both in Hampshire, and Lesser Scaup in both Cornwall and Staffordshire. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Isles of Scilly), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), Snow Goose (County Kerry), two Ring-necked Ducks, three each of both Yellow-browed Warbler and Surf Scoter, 13 Glossy Ibises, and 14 Parrot Crossbills. Notable gulls comprised 22 Glaucous, 16 Iceland, 10 Caspian, five Kumlien's and three Ring-billed. |

| Lingering rarities confirmed as still present today were both the American Coot
and King Eider in Highland, Pacific Diver in County Tyrone,
American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Ivory Gull and Azorean Yellow-legged Gull in County Wexford,
Laughing Gull in County Cork, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Kent,
Long-billed Dowitcher in Hampshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Lesser Scaup in both Cornwall and Staffordshire, and
Two-barred Crossbills in Gloucestershire (11) and South Yorkshire (7). Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Isles of Scilly), American Wigeon (Highland), Snow Goose (Aberdeenshire), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk), two Shorelarks, three Ring-necked Ducks, nine Glossy Ibises and 14 Parrot Crossbills (together in Nottinghamshire). Notable gulls included 18 Glaucous, 15 Iceland, three each of both Ring-billed and Caspian, and one Kumlien's. |

| Today's rarities included American Coot (Highland), two Hume's
Yellow-browed Warblers (Kent), Long-billed Dowitcher, Lesser
Yellowlegs and Ferruginous Duck (Hampshire), Lesser Scaup
(Western Isles, Glamorgan and Cornwall), Bonaparte's Gull (Devon), 18
Two-barred Crossbills (15 in Gloucestershire and 3 in Shropshire) and
American Buff-bellied Pipit (Cheshire).
In Ireland the Pacific Diver (Co Tyrone), Ivory Gull and Azorean Yellow-legged Gull (Co Wexford), Forster's Tern and King Eider (Co Mayo), Laughing Gull (Co Cork) and Lesser Scaup (Co Galway) were all logged. The best of the rest included Rose-coloured Starling (Isles of Scilly), Cattle Egret and Yellow-browed Warbler (Devon), five Parrot Crossbills and 16 Glossy Ibises. |

| Sunday 19th January 2014 | ||

| In Ireland a Pacific Diver (Co Tyrone), King Eiders (Co Mayo
and Co Cork), Laughing Gull (Co Cork), Forster's Tern, Spotted
Sandpiper and Black Duck (Co Mayo) and Ivory Gull and
Azorean Yellow-legged Gull (Co Wexford) were all logged today, whilst a
Gyr was in Co Kerry yesterday.
Elsewhere lingering rarities included American Coot (Highland), American Buff-bellied Pipit (Cheshire), Lesser Scaup (Staffordshire, Glamorgan and Cornwall), two Hume's Yellow-browed Warblers (Kent), Bonaparte's Gull and White-billed Diver (Devon), Lesser Yellowlegs (Hampshire), at least 18 Two-barred Crossbills (10+ in Gloucestershire, 7 in South Yorkshire and a single bird in Shropshire), Thayer's Gull (Glamorgan), Marsh Sandpiper (Western Isles) and King Eider (Lothian). The best of the rest included Rose-coloured Starling (Isles of Scilly), at least two Yellow-browed Warblers, 17 Glossy Ibises and 26 Parrot Crossbills. |

| Saturday 18th January 2014 | ||

| Today's two headline finds both came from the west: a Laughing Gull
was found at Ballycotton in County Cork and a drake Blue-winged Teal was
found on Mainland Orkney. A Black-bellied Dipper was at Castle Eden Dene
in County Durham.
The American Coot remained at Loch Flemington in Highland, the Ivory Gull was still at Tacumshin in County Wexford and the American Buff-bellied Pipit remained at Burton Marsh in Cheshire. Other lingering rarities included the White-billed Diver in Devon, Forster's Tern in County Mayo, Thayer's Gull in Glamorgan, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Kent, seven Two-barred Crossbills in Yorkshire, Lesser Scaups in Staffordshire, Highland, Cornwall and Western Isles and King Eiders in Lothian and Highland. Glossy Ibises totalled sixteen whilst large gulls totalled 5 Kumlien's, 26 Glaucous and about 27 Icelands. |

| Rarities today were headlined by the continued presence of both American Coot and
King Eider in Moray, Ivory Gull in County Wexford, Forster's Tern
and King Eider in County Mayo, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire,
Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, King Eider in Fife, White-billed Diver in Devon, seven
Two-barred Crossbills together in South Yorkshire, and Lesser Scaups in both Cornwall and Staffordshire. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Isles of Scilly), two each of Ring-necked Duck, Cattle Egret and Shorelark, three Parrot Crossbills, four each of Yellow-browed Warbler and Snow Goose, and a total of 15 Glossy Ibises scattered across 12 counties. Notable gulls were presented by 30 Glaucous, 12 Caspian, 10 Iceland, and two each of both Ring-billed and Kumlien's. |

| A first-winter Forster's Tern was discovered at Elly on The Mullet,
County Mayo, and a female King Eider was located at Ruddons Point, Fife.
Lingering rarities still present today included the American Coot, King Eider and Lesser Scaup in Highland, Ivory Gull in County Wexford, Ross's Gull in County Dublin, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Kent, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Lesser Scaups in Staffordshire and Glamorgan, White-billed Diver in Devon and six Two-barred Crossbills in Yorkshire. |

| The highlight of the day was the discovery of Ross's Gull in County Dublin at North Bull Island, whilst in Staffordshire a
Lesser Scaup was identified at Tittesworth Reservoir. Lingering rarities confirmed as still present were the American Coot and King Eider in Highland, Ivory Gull in County Wexford, American Buff-bellied Pipit in Cheshire, Hume's Yellow-browed Warbler in Devon, Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, and six Two-barred Crossbills together in South Yorkshire. Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Isles of Scilly), American Wigeon (Highland), Cattle Egret (Buckinghamshire), two Surf Scoters, three Rough-legged Buzzards, eight Glossy Ibises, and 12 Parrot Crossbills (together in Nottinghamshire). Significant late news concerned the confirmation that the White-winged Scoter at Musselburgh, Lothian on 26th December 2013 was a Stejneger's Scoter, the first British record of this form, following one in Ireland at Rossbeigh Strand, County Kerry on 1st February-11th April 2011. |

Red-breasted Goose and Lesser Yellowlegs in Hampshire, Bonaparte's Gull and
White-billed Diver in Devon, King Eider in County Mayo, White-billed Diver
on the Orkney Isles, and Two-barred Crossbills in Gloucestershire (7), Norfolk and South Yorkshire (7). Scarcities included Ring-necked Duck (County Waterford), Grey Phalarope (East Sussex), two each of Yellow-browed Warbler, Shorelark, Rough-legged Buzzard and Black Brant, three each of Cattle Egret and Snow Goose, four Surf Scoters, five Green-winged Teals, seven Great Grey Shrikes, eight Glossy Ibises, 11 Lapland Buntings, 12 Great White Egrets, and 19 Parrot Crossbills. Notable gulls included 31 Glaucous, 17 Iceland, six Caspian, four Ring-billed and a Kumlien's. |
