| Highlight of the day was the discovery of an adult Ross's Gull on
Westray (Orkney). Elsewhere new birds included Lesser Scaup in Somerset
and American Golden Plover in East Yorkshire, whilst in Co Galway the
Forster's Tern reappeared at Nimmo's Pier.
Two-barred Crossbills in Norfolk and Surrey, Blue-winged Teal in Lincolnshire, Red-breasted Goose in Hampshire, Dusky Warblers in West Midlands and Cornwall, White-rumped Sandpipers in Lincolnshire and Cornwall, Northern Harrier in Cambridgeshire and American Robin on Isles of Scilly all lingered, whilst four Glossy Ibises (Worcestershire [2], Nottinghamshire and Suffolk), two Rose-coloured Starlings (Cornwall and Western Isles), Pallas's Warbler (Isles of Scilly), Common Rosefinch (East Yorkshire), Red-backed Shrike (West Sussex), Richard's Pipit (Cleveland), Red-breasted Flycatcher and Wryneck (Cornwall) were also recorded. |
