Saturday 12th January 2013  
  The highlight of the day was the discovery of a second Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan, at Cardiff, whilst the other remained in position at the Ogmore Estuary. Elsewhere, rarities seen today comprised both American Buff-bellied Pipits still together in Berkshire, the American Coot in County Galway, Western Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall, Black-bellied Dipper in Norfolk, single Red-breasted Geese in both Dumfries and Galloway and Hampshire, Richardson's Canada Geese in Argyll and County Sligo, King Eider on the Shetland Isles, Long-billed Dowitcher in Pembrokeshire, Lesser Scaup in both Cornwall and Somerset, and Glossy Ibises in Hampshire and Pembrokeshire.

Scarcities included a Pallas's Warbler in Berkshire at Moor Green Lakes - present for ten days but only identified from photographs today, the Rose-coloured Starling still in Devon, a new Great Grey Shrike in Cornwall, two Rough-legged Buzzards together in Norfolk, and both Richard's Pipit and Cattle Egret in Somerset.

Friday 11th January 2013  
  Lingering rarities seen today included a single American Buff-bellied Pipit in Berkshire at Queen Mother Reservoir, American Coot in County Galway at Murloch, Western Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall at St Just, Black-bellied Dipper in Norfolk at Thetford, Dusky Warbler on the Isles of Scilly at Lower Moors, and Gyr on the Western Isles on South Uist.

Others included the Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan, Red-breasted Geese in Dumfries and Galloway and Hampshire, Richardson's Canada Goose in Argyll, Long-billed Dowitcher in Pembrokeshire, King Eider in Aberdeenshire, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Cornwall and Glossy Ibis in Hampshire.

Scarcity highlights included the Temminck's Stint in Somerset, Rose-coloured Starling in Devon and Yellow-browed Warbler on the Berkshire /Hampshire border.

Thursday 10th January 2013  
  Lingering rarities included the two Buff-bellied Pipits in Berkshire, Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan, Lesser Yellowlegs in Devon, Red-breasted Geese in Dumfries & Galloway and Suffolk, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and Cornwall, Gyr on Western Isles, Glossy Ibis in Hampshire and Black-bellied Dipper in Norfolk.

The best of the rest included Yellow-browed Warbler, American Wigeons in Norfolk and Highland and Rose-coloured Starling in Devon.

Wednesday 9th January 2013  
  The highlight of the day was reappearance of both American Buff-bellied Pipits at Queen Mother Reservoir, Berkshire, the first time they have shown since 26th December 2012.

Eleswhere, lingering rarities comprised the Gyr still on the Western Isles, American Coot in County Galway, Black Duck in County Mayo, Desert Wheatear in Aberdeenshire, Dusky Warbler on the Isles of Scilly, Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall, Black-bellied Dipper in Norfolk, Red-breasted Geese in both Hampshire and Suffolk, Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Lincolnshire and Pembrokeshire, Lesser Yellowlegs in Devon, Lesser Scaup in Cornwall and Somerset, and Glossy Ibis in County Cork, Dorset and Hampshire.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Devon), Richard's Pipit (Isles of Scilly), Yellow-browed Warbler (Hampshire), Surf Scoter (County Kerry, Pembrokeshire and County Waterford), American Wigeon (County Leitrim), Ring-necked Duck (Devon, Isles of Scilly (2) and Pembrokeshire), Ring-billed Gull (County Cork, County Kerry, Hampshire, Shetland Isles and County Waterford), Rough-legged Buzzard (Norfolk (2) and Kent), and Great Grey Shrike (Derbyshire, East Yorkshire and Surrey).

Tuesday 8th January 2013  
  Headline rarities included American Coot in Co Galway, Desert Wheatear in Aberdeenshire and Black Duck in Highland. Elsewhere Richardson's Canada Goose (Argyll), Subalpine Warbler (Cornwall), Lesser Yellowlegs (Devon), Glossy Ibises (Co Cork and Hampshire), Red-breasted Geese (Hampshire and Suffolk), Bonaparte's Gulls (Co Antrim and Glamorgan) and Lesser Scaup (Somerset) all lingered, whilst on Isles of Scilly the Dusky Warbler reappeared on St Mary's.

The best of the rest included American Wigeon in Co Leitrim, Yellow-browed Warbler on the Berkshire/ Hampshire border, Rose-coloured Starling in Devon, Ring-necked Duck in Cornwall and Green-winged Teals in Co Cork and Shropshire.

Monday 7th January 2013  
  Lingering rare passerines comprised Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall, Desert Wheatear in Aberdeenshire and Black-bellied Dipper in Norfolk. The Long-billed Dowitcher in Lincolnshire, Blue-winged Teal in Co Dublin, Lesser Yellowlegs in Devon, Glossy Ibises in Co Cork and Hampshire, Lesser Scaup in Somerset, Red-breasted Geese in Hampshire and Suffolk and Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan all lingered.

Notable scarcities included Temminck's Stint in Somerset, Rose-coloured Starling in Devon, Yellow-browed Warbler on the Berkshire/ Hampshire border and Surf Scoter in Pembrokeshire. Three Ring-necked Ducks and five Green-winged Teals were also reported, whilst late news related to an adult American Herring Gull in Co Galway on Saturday and a possible Parrott Crossbill in Gloucestershire on Friday.

Sunday 6th January 2013  
  Lingering rarities seen today included the Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall, Desert Wheatear and King Eider in Aberdeenshire, Black-bellied Dipper and Red-breasted Goose in Suffolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Devon, Long-billed Dowitchers in Pembrokeshire and Lincolnshire, Bonaparte's Gulls in Glamorgan and County Antrim, King Eider in Shetland, Lesser Scaups in Somerset and County Clare, Red-breasted Geese in Hampshire and Dumfries and Galloway and Glossy Ibises in Pembrokeshire and Hampshire.

Scarcity highlights included a Richard's Pipit, a Todd's Canada Goose a Temminck's Stint, a Rose-coloured Starling, a Yellow-browed Warbler and a Grey Phalarope.

Saturday 5th January 2013  
  New rarities discovered today comprised a Bonaparte's Gull in Glamorgan on the Ogmore Estuary, and a Penduline Tit at Stodmarsh, Kent.

Elsewhere, lingering raities confirmed as still present were the Desert Wheatear and King Eider in Aberdeenshire, Forster's Tern in County Galway, Black Duck in Highland, Bonaparte's Gull in Devon, Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall, single Red-breasted Geese in Dumfries and Galloway, Hampshire and Suffolk, Lesser Yellowlegs in Devon, Long-billed Dowitchers in both Lincolnshire and Pembrokeshire, Lesser Scaup in Somerset, Glossy Ibis in Hampshire, and Black-bellied Dipper in Norfolk.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling (Devon), Yellow-browed Warbler (Pembrokeshire), Cattle Egret (County Donegal), Temminck's Stint (Somerset), Rough-legged Buzzard (Lincolnshire and Norfolk), Ring-billed Gull (County Dublin, Hampshire and County Kerry), Ring-necked Duck (Cornwall (2), Devon, Pembrokeshire and Somerset), Great Grey Shrike (Bedfordshire, Derbyshire, Hampshire (2), Hertfordshire and Staffordshire).

Friday 4th January 2013  
  Headline rarities included King Eider and Desert Wheatear in Aberdeenshire, Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall, Lesser Scaup in Somerset and Co Clare, Lesser Yellowlegs in Devon, Long-billed Dowitcher in Pembrokeshire, Black-bellied Dipper in Norfolk, Glossy Ibis in Hampshire and Red-breasted Geese in Suffolk and Dumfries & Galloway (the former apparently a new first-winter, not the bird present at the same site, North Warren RSPB, 29th December-3rd January).

The best of the rest included Yellow-browed Warbler in Berkshire, Rose-coloured Starling in Devon, Temminck's Stint in Somerset and American Wigeon in Aberdeenshire.

  Lingering rarities comprised Gyr on Western Isles, Subalpine Warbler in Cornwall, Lesser Yellowlegs in Devon, Long-billed Dowitcher in Pembrokeshire, Red-breasted Geese in Dumfries & Galloway and Suffolk, Glossy Ibis Hampshire and Co Cork, Desert Wheatear in Aberdeenshire, Black-bellied Dipper in Norfolk and Northern Harrier in Co Wexford.

Scarcities included Rose-coloured Starling in Devon, Yellow-browed Warbler in Berkshire, American Wigeon in Aberdeenshire and Temminck's Stint in Somerset.
